Cookie Policy

Updated

In short: Our website sets no cookies of its own. The account pages keep your login in your browser's local storage, which the site needs to work. We use no advertising, tracking or analytics tools. If we ever want to, we will ask you first and you can say no. The checkout page is run by Stripe and sets its own cookies. The desktop app does not use cookies.

1. What cookies and local storage are

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Local storage is a similar tool. The law treats them the same way, so this page covers both.

2. What we use

Only what is strictly needed for a service you ask for. The law lets a website use these without asking, because the site cannot work without them.

Name Type Set by What it does How long
tc.session Local storage twincopier.com (account pages only) Keeps you logged in to your account page. Only set when you log in. Until you log out. The login itself ends after 14 days without use.
tc.device Local storage twincopier.com (account pages only) A random id for this browser, sent with your login so the account server can tell your logins apart Until you clear your browser data
__cf_bm Cookie Cloudflare (on twincopier.com) Tells real visitors from bad bots. Only set if Cloudflare's bot protection is on. 30 minutes
cf_clearance Cookie Cloudflare (on twincopier.com) Remembers that you passed a security check. Only set if a check is shown. Up to 1 day

Pages other than the account pages store nothing in your browser.

3. Payment pages

When you pay, you go to a checkout page run by Stripe, where Link (a Stripe company) takes the payment. Stripe and Link set their own cookies there, for example to prevent fraud or to remember your Link account if you ask it to. They are responsible for those cookies. See Stripe's cookie policy.

4. What we do not use

  • No advertising cookies.
  • No tracking across other websites.
  • No social media buttons that track you.
  • No analytics.

If we ever add analytics or anything else that is not strictly needed, we will ask for your consent first, with "accept" and "reject" buttons that are equally easy to use, and we will update this page.

5. The desktop app

The app does not use cookies. It keeps your login, licence and settings in its own folder on your computer, with secrets encrypted by your operating system's keychain. See the Privacy Policy.

6. How to control them

You can see and delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you delete tc.session, you are logged out of your account page.

7. Contact
