Prop-firm rules and copiers
What the big firms allow, and how the app helps you stay inside the rules.
Updated
Each prop firm has its own copier rules, and they change often. Our list with links to each firm's own rule page is on /prop-firms. The firm's own page always wins. Read it before you copy.
Rules most firms share
- Your own accounts only, in your own name.
- No hedging across your accounts: never long on one and short on another in the same or related markets. Some firms count this across different firms too. Keep No hedging on. See Safety switches.
- A cap on funded accounts per person (often 5, some 20). The app warns you when a group has more than 5 followers.
- A max size per account. Set Max contracts on each follower. See Follower settings.
- No bots at some firms (for example Apex): the copier may only copy trades you place by hand. TwinCopier copies your own trades. It does not trade by itself.
Set your prop firm in the app
On the Risk page, set the prop firm for each account. This is part of Guard, in the Copier + Guard plan. The free trial includes it.
- The app uses that firm's contract cap for the account, and shows that firm's warnings.
- The best-day check helps you with consistency rules.
- Accounts that a firm forbids copying to (UProfit, Savius, Topstep Live Funded) are refused.
Firms with special rules
- Topstep: only from your own computer (no VPS), and never on Live Funded accounts. See Connect TopstepX.
- Take Profit Trader and Elite Trader Funding allow only copiers on their own approved list. Check that list before you copy there.
Your responsibility
The app helps you follow the rules. It cannot know every rule of every firm or every change. You are responsible for your accounts. See our risk disclaimer.
